Demand for Health IT (HIT) and Data Analytics professionals is growing rapidly. To serve those in need, Community Health Centers (CHCs), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Health Care Controlled Networks (HCCNs), and Primary Care Associations (PCAs) need trained, qualified staff. Come learn practical skills, better understand trends, and learn about HIT.
Dates & Locations:
Classes will be held online with in-person labs beginning March 5, 2020, on Thursday evenings 6-9 pm CT through May 28, 2020. All classes will be held live online via Zoom in an interactive format with lectures, videos, class discussions, and small group exercises. All course materials and software needed are included.
Four in-person labs will allow students hands-on opportunities to practice skills with EHR, cybersecurity, Excel, and data analysis software. Labs will be held in downtown Chicago at the:

CAHIMS/CPHIMS Certification Bootcamp:
Included in the fee is a bootcamp to help prepare students to study for and pass the HIMSS certification exams. The bootcamp will be a combination of online and in-person sessions with a review of key concepts, test-taking strategies, and practice tests:
June 11, 2020 6-9 pm CT online via Zoom
June 18, 2020 6-9 pm CT in-person Lab
Up to 6 individual coaching sessions with a professional leadership coach are included in the fee. Coaching sessions are held via Zoom, and scheduled at a mutually agreeable time between student and coach. Coaching helps prepare students for effective team and project leadership in HIT.
Fees & Eligibility:
The fee for this course is $125.00 for Illinois residents. Fees will be used to help defray HIMSS exam costs for those students who successfully complete this course and elect to take the CAHIMS or CPHIMS exam.
Preference will be given to employees of CHCs, FQHCs, HCCNs, PCAs and other providers serving underserved communities.
Parking & Transportation:
The Feinberg School of Medicine is accessible on the L (Red Line) and CTA bus routes. Parking for in-person labs is not included in fees, but street parking may be available through ParkChicago or Spot Hero.
