Healthcare Fundamentals
This course provides an opportunity to learn the skills to seek and find a job, and for obtaining the fundamental skills needed to succeed in healthcare administration and clinical support. The course is designed to teach the basic professional skills and components—such as understanding EHRs, interviewing skills, and self-leadership—that are needed to obtain and sustain a successful future as a patient services specialist, unit secretary, patient family care liaison, or billing / insurance coordinator as the first step in a rewarding career. (28 hour course, 7 weeks)

COVID-19 and the digital health wave are fundamentally changing how health care is delivered from virtual care models and patient-driven services to robust analytics, population health, interoperability, and privacy/security applications. Gain a foundation that includes Health IT project management, data analytics, leadership, and managing change. Hands on workshops reinforce IT and data analytics skills. Prepares you to obtain CAHIMS and/or CPHIMS certificates.
Part 1: Health IT
Healthcare tech applications, HIT operations, HIT risk management and security, project management, HIT trends (20 hours, 7 weeks)
